A lot of big changes have been happening in my life lately, and while they're incredibly exciting, they've definitely taken me away from blogging for a hot minute. If you're one of my loyal readers - I apologize for my lack of articles in the recent months! But also, I'm not...because one of the main reasons I created Tori Talks was because I felt there was a void in my life when it came to writing. I was craving an outlet where I could continue to fuel my passion for it. And Tori Talks has given me all of that and more. But now, I'm able to put my passion to use at my job writing pitches, press releases, etc. And that has been fueling me so much that I haven't had the urge (or quite frankly the time) to sit down and crank out many articles. Finding a job that allows you to do what you love and put your skills to use is so rewarding - I'm an incredibly lucky gal!
And in other news...I GOT ENGAGED! Pretty crazy, huh? I thought so too. I don't talk a whole lot about my relationship with Albert on here because I like to keep that somewhat private, but I will allow myself to gush for a moment and say that I can't freakin' believe I get to marry my best friend. I am seriously so in love with Albert it's ridiculous. He asked me to marry him on our 5 year anniversary while we were at home in our pjs, and that's always the kind of love I've wanted. I'm so glad I've found it with him :) Also, side note...wedding planning is THE best! So many color coded spreadsheets guys!!! I'm into it.
I've also taken some much needed time away from social media lately as well as went though and unfollowed a ton of accounts that weren't serving me, keeping only those that aligned with my personal values and interests. Social media can be a negative space, and it was certainly becoming so for me as I kept comparing myself to "cool" bloggers with huge followings and prettier filters. It was nice to take a step back and reevaluate my priorities. I decided that becoming the most "important" or "noteworthy" Charleston blogger wasn't my goal, but rather, to become the Charleston blogger that creates the most valuable content instead of trying to cater to the masses.
That, my friends, has been my life in a nutshell for the past couple months. Working, living, loving, and creating. It's been fabulous, but I'm more than ready to be back in the swing of things to provide you all with some words of wisdom.
It's so necessary to take time for yourself, evaluate your priorities, and spend time with loved ones without the distraction of technology. Knowing when you need a break keeps you from burning yourself out, and it helps you rediscover your passions all over again. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have done so, and I thank you for being patient with me as I get back into blogging more frequently! Life happens, and we should let it unfold naturally rather than forcing ourselves to fit a certain type of mould for the sake of others. Cheers, beauties.
I created this blog to help inspire people to become the most authentic and empowered versions of themselves - a space where personal experiences, tips, and tidbits guide others to live strong, grounded, and powerful lives.
